So much for media freedom and transparency of Sarath Fonseka (SF) and his clique. What a scandal!!! I am no admirerer of Sunday Leader or Frederica Jansz who are using journalism as a means of prostituting for others. When General declared himself as Presidential Candidate Sunday Leader went into high gear to sling mud at opponents even if that meant it ultimately brought disrepute to the country. The whole idea was to come with so-called explosive stories every week until the election date with the sole aim at throwing mud at Rajapakses. Remember during the last Preseidential Election it came out with this Helping Hambantota issue and the courts had to intervene to stop the rot. This time the whole exercise boomeranged really bad for everyone involved. SF never had any chance of wining but even the microscopic small chance he had gone away after this most treacherous statement. As for Frederica Jansz she had to go through most humiliating personal attacks from the very same people she tried to serve with her kabal journalism. This is called "Karma" in Buddhism. There is a court order against Sunday Leader not to publish any articles mentioning the name of Gotabaya Rajapakse.....so this is a case of contempt of court. Apparently this self-proclaimed professional journalist has no respect for the law of the country. Intersting thing here is not only the involvement of local Gobbels Mangala Samaraweera but also nice-talking Anura Kumara Dissanaike of JVP. Lal Kantha stated that if Sarath Fonseka actually made such a comment then it was a betrayal of the country. Didn't he konw the involvement of Anura Kumara Dissanaike in this soridid saga? Surely he must have known, and that brings the question what sort of hypocriate this people deceiving Trade Union leader!!! When the article published on the 13th December Ranil Wickramasinghe was in India. From there he asked what was the reaction of Govt to this allegation!!!! These are the kind of people who aspire to be the head of state in Sri Lanka.

Fortunately in this issue Sunday Leader had locked horns with SF, the opposition candidate.
Imagine what would have happened if it was one of Rajapakse brothers or Dr Mervin.....

When The Sunday Leader tried to sling mud at Rajapakses they went to court and the court had prohibitted the Leader publications to slander Gotabaya Rajapakse until the court case is over. That is the way Rajapakses handle mud slinging ..... not by most humiliating personal attacks and threats as is the case with this soridid affair.

Talking about The Sunday Leader, when Lasantha Wickramatunga was killed Ranil Wickramasinghe said in the Parliament it was carried out by "Army Commander's hit squad". Joseph Michael Perera went even further and said ALL attacks on journalists were carried out by Army Commander's goons.

Now these shameless people have come together for one macabre cause. If they think people cannot see this "Naralowa Holman" they are sadly mistaken. People are much more intelligent than they think and on the 27th January they will get the people's verdict.

Hope you are right. I personally don't believe that the SL'n electorate has the basic grey matter needed to make an informed choice.
