Post This is, at least partly, stupid
I guess that the docs are already aware but ignore that:

1. The Indian doctors are here on a government-to-government request. The so called procedure they refer to is for foreign doctors working here as individuals as paid employees. I don't think there is a a predefined "proper procedure" for the current situation. which is extremely political, diplomatic, and hence complicated.

2. The second issue, about treatment procedures, is a right one. But then, they should that point out and provide their input to the government to implement procedures, rather than threatening to go on strike.

I am not sure how exactly the ACMOA and GMOA are related (both have done good and bad things at times). Does anyone know a bit more about that?

Post SL docs have no leagl right to question
These docs should realise that  the Indian medical team is in Sl with the government's approval. Thats all it needs.
Docs should stay away from petty politics...

Post What's up Doc?
Is it possible that GOSL asked the doctors to threaten to strike so that they (GOSL) would have an excuse for refusing to allow the Indian doctors in?  I only ask because this is Sri GoldenKey Lanka and usually anything is possible.

Veritas,
First you have to understand the mentality of SL doctors. When they get into do medicine, their first thought is money and status and not about helping the sick. There may be a few dedicated doctors who care about the patients before money and status but they are a rare commodity these days. This is why they always threaten with strikes to show their power without any regard for suffering patients whom they depend on for their livelihood. How many SL doctors have volunteered to go up North to serve those poor patients?

Actually Mawrata I don't agree. For the most part, the GMOA strikes are carried out in the main hospitals only. If you go to remote hospitals, you'll find doctors working but they will later apply for leave, or they will put a different date on the prescriptions and that is how they work. For the most part, I've found most sri lankan doctors very conscientious, specially in remote areas.

The second point, There are Indian Doctors working in Apollo hospital without any certification from the GOMA [sic]. Why not protest these.. the war zone could use as many doctors as possible.

Doctors shouldn't be threatening strikes at the drop of a hat, but that is their most potent weapon and they seem to be addicted to it. Also, I think, they earn more on private clinics when they strike.

Once people go through the medical school, most of them become Colombians.
Unfortunately, basic doctors are being views as more valuable and highly achieved than those who are with MS or PhDs.  That ego itself is enough someone to feel like they are in heaven.
The motivation of rock stars and male doctors mostly has been money and women.

Exclusions are few of my friends who are passionate about serving the poor man.
