Aww come on. Give Boggles a break. He had to interrupt his trip to Vietnam to visit
Pakistan. He HAD to say SOMETHING..

And be thank full that MR didn't opt to go himself. That would have been a 150 retinue
of hangers on and hair stylists.. Hair Dye experts and what not.. Smile

Sheesh didn't you know that the there are circuit problems between the mouth and
the brain in the typical SL politico?

Shocked

Vishvajith, Namdev

This may be a trivial laughing matter to you but to the millions of sports fans in the world this is crass inhumanity.

Whoever did this stands condemned by all over the world and if the LTTE is somehow connected with this then it is one more nail in the coffin of Prbhakaran – ethnic issue or no issue.

I fully support the SL government’s initiative to have an international treaty to treat crimes against visiting sports personnel as crimes against humanity – the lowest of all.

I am happy to hear this and I will try not to be cynical.

OK. I will give them the benefit of doubt this time.

I hope they will keep their word and will not attack absolutely innocent targets like sportsmen (and sportswomen), civilian aircrafts and if possible to extend that to civilians on ground as well.

However I reserve my final judgement until what unravels in the investigations.

Entirely possible as I said earlier that l.t.t.e may have had no hand.
It is hard for anyone to influence LeT, HUM, Taliban etc. Those are orgs that
have shot, kidnapped, beheaded foreigners, butchered civilians and tied them to poles,
and are arbitrary in their methods.

>>He admitted that the Tamil people were facing acute shortage of food and water and 11 people, including children and two women, have died because of starvation of food. Thileepan claimed that their supreme leader Vellupillai Prabhakaran was still with them along with his wife and children.

This is ridiculous and artificial. The tigers when faced with advancing troops and imminent defeat, breached
several dams, thereby sabotaging water supplies and also destroyed infrastructure ( whatever little was left ),
all to make the rehabilitation difficult and prolonged. No wonder civilians will collapse in droves for lack of water and food.

Dear RM
What do you think of the following

Hi MAC1
IMO, while it seems plausible enough on the surface, there seems to be an obvious attempt to link the ISI, Pak Navy and presumably by extension, the whole Pak defence establishment to the LTTE. I guess this is what Obama said was an attempt to spoil relations between Pak and SL

Dear MAC1,  B. Raman only suggested to look at this angle, based on quid pro quo thinking.
It will be very tough to link l.t.t.e with jehadi organizations so soon.
I will give a low probability at present on this. I don't see how at such a huge distance and cultural divide,
the l.t.t.e can manage to do anything inside Pak; they could easily have done this inside SL and they are not
into disrupting sports events.

One thing is clear,  this will not spoil relation between Pak and SL, and the Pak establishment is not involved.
The non-state actors inside Pak are even more fearless and on the loose than their counterparts elsewhere.
I don't think Obama is on the right track, and maybe we won't get to the bottom of this.

Thanks for your thoughts, I wonder whether the investigations will reveal anything. Have my doubts. Let's watch and see

I agree with rm.
They killed Benazir. Tried so many attempts on Musharraf. So many terrorists attack in pakistan over last few years. US is attacking talibans who is operating from Pakistan.

Pakistan is falling down to level of Afganistan.

Unless USA and Pakistan leaders jointly put some effort it is going to be bad.
Definitely it is going to ripple down to India as well.
