The apology would not be required as it is near impossible to stop such a determined attack. Pakistani policemen gave up their lives and a driver proved himself a hero. Our team was extremely lucky. What we need, more than apologies, is a crackdown / arrest of the perpetrators and give them just punishment... i would agree to stoning to death on this one.

Is there any credibility to the theory that they were trying to take hostage / or kidnap the team? If they did intend that, there would have been a hideout building with parking for a bus or a stash to put the bus away nearby. I think they intended to kill the team (but why? escapes me).

Attacking a cricket team with guns / rockets / and mortars ... is that pakistani / ltte courage? what are the team supposed to do? throw back a ball? C'mon you dumbass terrorists, pick on someone your own size.

I totally agree with Romeo on this.  Apology is not needed but there are 12 gunmen who took part in this during broad day light and managed to escape.  Find at least one.
