Why are the monks and the JHU silent ?  We are on our way towards being a " pol pot " state.
Have a read on the Cambodian genocide and the silent complicity of  the monks.

Could it be that there were enough of noises made at the funeral procession including dashing of coconuts in front of the procession by the women folk (more of a May Day Rally?).
Was that the style the organizers wanted respecting a dead person? Or did the politicians steal it without any respect to the family of the slain media person? RW’s speech at the funeral ceremony said it all. Those who watched Sirasa media coverage at the prime time news saw it all. Did RW pay tribute to Lasantha or called upon people to put him in power. It’s now public knowledge.

“Kaladutu kala wala ihagan” Make the best using the situation. Suited to most politicians of this era.

(Hope my translation is ok. Anyone who wishes to fine tune most welcome)

According to his religious belief may Lasantha rest in peace.

What is the common thing between vishvajith's comment here and the funeral parade?

Political Opportunism (like Mac says).

Since the day of LW's death, hasn't it been all about strenthening political agendas of those who oppose the govt? All of a sudden people who didn't even know who LW was opening "cause" pages on Facebook.  If there ever was a death to capitalize on, this is it boys!!

When was the last time Ranil W was able to bring so many people together?

What are you trying to say ? People shouldn't protest the murder of a leading journalist ? Also note, this is not an isolated incident. there have been a large number of attacks on the media recently. A lot of journalists have been killed. nobody has been held responsible.

Oh that's what they are doing? Protesting a murder of a journalist? Are they protesting to uphold law and order? Security? Democracy? Or are they simply engaged in a mud slinging of the century using Lasantha's dead body as the bait?

Please do tell me why these free media loving Ranil did not protest the murder of Richard de Soyza the same way.  While you are at it, please explain to me why neither Lasantha nor Ranil has protested the Prabakaran terrorism with same vigour? I find lot of humor in this type of activities and it is a shame people resort to such law levels to push their pathetic political agendas.
