Take the bull by the horns. RW and CBK retreated in the face of provocations and attacks.  Even if TAF scored a big(huge) moral victory and a propaganda coup with their air strike, it is not time to back down.  Give it as good as it gets. And then stop this nonesensical political witch hunt. GOta maybe MR's brother but he was a military man from the Anti JVP beeshana period. He cares not about democratic rights of people like Sripathi or Mangala. And we have Judges who will jump at the behest of politicians depending on the way the wind blows. After all MR's buddy Sarath Silva who was hand picked and groomed by CBK turned against her for a deal and it is not a surprise Sripathi is still in jail for this absurd "Crime" of stealing a Govt vehicle. Who is to tell who who is corrupt or honest?  Come on MR your govt FAILED to protect Katunayake Airport and YOU FAILED to act when as commander in chief SLAF FAILED to detect this attack.  Aircraft like these are not Stealth bombers.  So someone MUST be HELD accountable because there is EGG on everyone's face. We are GREAT at AFTER THE FACT surmising of events and big statements about India and threats when a Simple shoulder launched SAM or Ack Ack batteries with Search Lights or  even a RPG could have shot down the TAF airplane. These plane fly SLOWER than the Me-88 of WW-2. Sheesh the incompetence of the people who assume they wont attack at a time that is not convenient to them. WHEN will they learn?

And for ponna RW, he should shut the hell up.  He is the one who allowed 40-ft containers full of weapons to go to Tigers. Ponna Ranil and Malik and Sagala should go on vacation to S.Africa again without his wife. Seems he loves to travel a lot without his wife. I am so angry. WE suffered and he is screaming in his not so masculine voice about the govt.   When did they do anything to fight Tigers? RW and Malik destroyed our LRRP and allowed Tiger Tamils to plague Colombo where these vermin are still living with Tamil Tiger Lovers and plotting mayhem. SHUT UP RW.  Dont make political capital out of this. But GOTA, please stop shooting your mouth off either. The buck not the bucks stop someplace as Truman Said. Where does it stop in SL:??  At the arrest of former comrade dissidents?

When will this government propoganda ever end. On tuesday they said the SLAF carried out simultaneous air attacks on LTTE targets, while not even a single SLAF jet had taken off from Katunayeke after the 3 bombs destoyed 40% of air-crafts. Yesterday they said they captured an LTTE base, after the SLA who are running away from LTTE, accidently ran into a luxary hotel and a distilary in no mans land. Today they are saying the navy destroyed LTTE boats, when the navy had not even killed any innocent fishermen. Who are they trying to fool?

har, I love it... nice stuff brother... hehe...

Why doesn't the world see that the GoSL is the real terrorist organisation here, and that the LTTE is a group of tree-hugging, peace loving, "making love in the jungles" not war, hippies... why can't the rest of the world see this as so clearly as others...? that evil GoSL, it makes me so angry that I could even blow myself up...

Haa, SL Navy destroyed another three high speed fishing boats. I am not sure why SLN doesn't understand that the poor fishermen in North need high powered guns to fish in the rough seas? I agree, it can be just pure propaganda since Tamilnet has no word about it.

Post How many boats.
Does LTTE have uncountable boats ?

1. Each months Navy destroys  about  LTTE  50 or more boats in the sea.

2. In addition there were the  aerial bombing of the LTTE harbours,

3. With Tsunami LTTE's naval wing was almost wiped out.

Going by the claims of Military Spokesman, Sea Tigers should be over by now.  Idea  Idea  Idea  Idea

Considering that these are converted fishin boats with out board motors, the number could be quite large. Also they are quite easy to replenish when destroyed. Threaten a firshemen, get his boat, fix guns to it, Hola!!! you have a LTTE attck craft. Put bombs and a sexually deprived Mr.Suicide in the same boat, you can convert it to a suicide boat. Its that easy.

About your other point. After counting all the boats destroyed by navy which are reported by the MCNS, I still could not account for an average of 50 boats a month. Could you please send the link to this site which carries reports of an averge 50 boats being destoyed. I just love to read govt propganda. Hope you oblige.

quite rightly pointed out by slfacts.

OH my my Never ending lies from GOSL. Also with in a 48 hour time period 4 diffrent statements each contradicting other  by MR,PM,FM & MR's Advisor........( one says peace  talks on , other says no talks, another  one says using military means is the only solution.)  GOSL it self is in a confused state.....

Trying to show that GOSL has the upper hand in handling this issue.....all the poor folks has to believe this crap.

Until a viable solution put on the table we have to listen to these kind of propoganda by GOSL.

Both GOSL & LTTE stop pointing fingers at each other , think of the Public & come to a solution.

Actually as long as the SL armed forces are allowed to function without political interference we'll get to see this kind of news until VP decides to take a zip from the little chicken soup container tied around his fat neck.

So many top brass officilas in the Armed forces are also addicted to Money.......So even if another 25 years goes on, still srilankan's will have to cope up with this conflict.

politicians are the main cause of this conflict. For their own good they capitalise this conflict.....

An article from Tamil-net    Mar 29th, 2007 - 04:13:26

There were no LTTE boats attacked! Only civilian fishermen boats were destroyed by the GoSL!

Tamil-net says that 20 Sri Lankan NAVY boats were destroyed completely and that 40 more are currently sinking. The NAVY officers that fell over-board are waiting to be rescued, but the civilian fishermen in the area are refusing to help them because they hate the SL Navy very much! The civilian fishermen are waiting close by and are laughing at the drowning Navy officers...

After seeing-off the offensive by the SL Navy, the victorious sea tigers returned to their base without any damages, and are currently attending to the elderly and children in the area that were injuried by artilery ,that the GoSL was firing at them, yesterday... Rev Bishop Rajakumar, who visited the civilians, minutes after the artilery attack, has confirmed that there were no LTTE positions in the area, and that only a nursary, children's pre-school and a retirement old-age home were targeted and hit by the artilery...

The evil GoSL have been targeting civilians because they know that they cannot defeat the brave LTTE, so instead they try and kill civilians to make themselves feel better! The SLMM has said in a statement that the GoSL were wrong for targeting civilians, and that the GoSL should follow the LTTE, who do not kill any civilians... The SLMM have once again asked that the GoSL return to peace talks, and to hand over the north and east of Sri Lanka to the LTTE...

You are absolutely correct.  How come LTTE rebuild their totally destroyed naval wing since they were strictly adhering to the CFA, I mean no new military acquisitions?
