Which school is down, I wonder!
If the Sri Lankan airforce is that brave, why can't they bomb the 'real LTTE areas' in the Kilinochchi and Mulaithivu?

I thought the LTTE controlled de facto parallel state of Tamil Ealam included most parts of the North and East. Do you mean to say that they have now shrunken it down to Kilinochchi and Mulaithivu areas only?

 GOSL Strategy
GOSL could very well carpet bomb all LTTE areas and finish LTTE for good. Why don't they do that?
Well, two good reasons:
1. Continuing this war as long as possible is financially beneficial for those in power and their arm dealer friends.
2. Give prolonged pleasure for LA forum writers.

You forgot two more
Permit LTTE leadership also to continue their lives of luxury and foreign schooling and expatriate living for their families (not forgetting their arms-dealing friends of course)
And more importantly, allow the LTTE supporters the golden opportunity to contribute to the "iyakkam" and that life of luxury for the LTTE leadership and the continuing "sole representation" of the SL-Tamilians.

Because carpet bombing will kill huge number of innocent civilians. Considering the fact that civilians are being affected even in the current targeted (precise?) bombings of LTTE camps, the consequences could be catastrophic if carpet bombing is carried out.
You seem to be wishing for a big blood bath so that it can be used by the LTTE to get sympathy from the world. I bet all your family memmbers and close relatives are living in western countries.

Your two more reasons give only pleasure to Tamils.
You must be out of your mind if you think GOSL have those reasons in their mind.

Dear Mudface,
You are forgetting one thing. If these are the reasons, the GOSL and LTTE are all in it together. I don't have to spell out who are the losers in this. To certain extent, it sounds true though. The average Sinhalese person is lot poorer than the LTTE cadre. Average Tamil is the person who is worse off. However, because of the "foreign money", the Tamils in Colombo and some in Jaffna are lot richer (no credit to LTTE or GOSL).
This is what our tangled web of ethnic conflict brought to our country. The Sinahlese person looks at the Tamil in Colombo and thinks "How rich he is and what a good living he has". The poor Tamil person may look at these Tamils as "traitors" and definitely looks at the Sinhalese as the ruling class who is treating them as dirt. These are the people LTTE scavenge. Nobody worry about the poor people from both sides, even thogh they are the majority. These people from both sides are the ones who fight the war "to save the country" and "to create a separate state for the oppressed".
That why I kept on asking in the forum: Please tell me what rights that Sinhalese have that Tamils don't.
It is poverty and hopelessness in both side. Some how LTTE and GOSL(s) have managed to convince them that it is the other side who is responsible for this side's problems.
We have the solution within ourselves. We just don't know it. That's all.

Ranjo meant the military targets.

Well, as long as the SL Tamilians are happy, that's all that matters.... Since you are sure they are happy., why all the grumbling about their situation ?

How do you know that ? Are you SURE that's what he meant ? Or like Danny, you will later say "well, you should ask Ranjo for yourself" ?
