Probably, they fought with LTTE deserters.
If the SLA has not carried out any operation in that area, who did LTTE fight with? Their own deserters? Karuna group is not allowed to go to the field anymore.

What? I missed that news, what happened? who's not allowing Karuna in the field anymore? what's the reason?
In anycase, there are no forces of Karuna's in the north- west.

Maybe it was a spiritual fight, like they fought against their own conscious on the .. battlefields of "rational" thinking... they say that they "repulsed the offensive"... so sounds like stupidity won in them again...

Once I requested Rasiaya to quit that medicine. He is nuts. This happens when you are too scared.

Why didnt Tamilnet publish this news item?
Terrorist spokesman wrote:
Some 600 soldiers tried to enter rebel territory in Mullikulam village some 180 kilometers (111 miles) north of the capital, Colombo, rebel spokesman Rasiah Ilanthirayan said by telephone from the guerrillas' headquarters in the northern town of Kilinochchi.
Rebels fired back and the soldiers ``retreated with the casualties,'' Ilanthirayan said without giving details.
Wonder why Rasaiah forgot to inform tamilnet.com about this achievement. One would think that in the back drop of the many defeats which the LTTE suffered recently, causing casualties and chasing 600 (SIX HUNDRED) SL troops back to the camps should be a huge morale boost to them. Also it would have been a good news item to encourage the . to contribute more. Seems like a big mistake not providing details of this "LTTE victory" to the tamillnet.

Nope I'll never forget that. More importantly, those debacles should not be forgotten by the persons responsible for planning the current military operations, and the politicians.
Now back to my point. I think you did not understand what I was trying to say in my post. I was pointing out that this piece of news item (causing casualties and chasing 600 soldiers away) should have been published in tamilnet for the following reasons,
1. to lift the morale of the LTTE who have been doing "strategic withdrawals" from Maavil aaru, Sampoor, Vaharie (soon from Thoppigala too) etc..
2. to give great joy to people like you and the rest of the ., and encourage you to contribute your hard earned money to the great noble cause persued by LTTE.
Simply speaking I beleive Rasaih missed a good oppertunity to gain some mileage by not disclosing this "LTTE victory" to the tamilnet.

I hope someone can fill in the details or give a link to where I can read this for myself. Thanks.
