COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) _ A clash between Tamil Tiger rebels and government troops left at least 14 guerrillas and one soldier dead Sunday in Sri Lanka's volatile eastern district of Batticaloa, the Defense Ministry said.

Victory is not close at all. The LTTE still have enormous firepower. Many thousands of soldiers and civilians will die before this war is over, if it ever is. |

I agree, there is a long way to go: but what exactly is "real fighting"? Is it Karate type fighting without weapons or the 19th century type marching warfare? Can you please help us to understand? |

Don't be so sure.
With SJ's departure, I have found that it's NEVER a good idea to under (over??) estimate Negombo. His prodigous use of the word "buffalo" and almost 100% reliance on it alone as an argument in all three national languages of SL, indicates that SJ has left the forum with half of Negombo's brain (and possibly all of his inspiration) in his pocket, leaving him nothing to cut-and-paste or present as coherent argument. |
