this will only go to strengthen the resolve of Sri Lanka's enemies and further alienate our nation among its supporters.

worse thing is still some buffoloas don't realise this.
and some super brainy ex-SriLankans thinks SL is being salvaged by king dutugamunu.
They should take a visa to visit SriLanka see the killing fields.

And some other buffaloes, muttals., (or donkeys) - apparently still living in SL despite their obvious dislike of the place - don't seem to realise that if their Supreme Leader in Bunker actually permitted a proper election, they wouldn't have to b.tch and moan about MR & JVP getting elected !

They'd have their shiny-grey-suited wonder boy and all the Eelam they could eat !

If Mangy is half correct, MR and his likes fell for the Tiger trap. The JVP is correct on this one, soon we will have our own " Kosovo " for which we can't thank ourselves enough. My, My what  a mess.

Negambo, you sound as if you were born after 2005 November or was the last December vacation the only time that you  ever really set your foot in Sri Lanka? I know you said you had to travel between Dehiwala and somewhere else (probably Negambo) a lot, is that where you saw the killing fields?

I think Proximus said the best when he said that you would jump happily into any anti Sinhala, Buddhist, MR, Sri Lanka band wagon that stroll down the street as long as it is not anti LTTE or RW.  Since you were so passionate about innocent dying, remind me where you were when RW himself was responsible for running torture houses back in the late 80s? Now that killing fields I remember as a child along the road ways very well. Have you made lot of trips between Kandy to Colombo those days Negambo? What about Galle to Matara? Do you remember people like Richard De Soysa showing up on beaches? Or were you too busy bathing in lagoon?

No one is here to condone and turn a blind eye to murder Negambo, but don't spit pure crap over and over in the TLA just because you still got your face stuck as Taraki once said in RW's you know where. It is really really getting to be boring.

Negombo, this really is nonsense. Perhaps you are too young to remember the JVP insurrection.  Thousands of innocent people disappeared in the Eighties.  Entire villages wre emptied of their young men and women and they were never seen again.  At one time Sri Lanka had the second highest number of disappearences in the world, second only to Argentina, despite the huge difference in populations.  I read somewhere (I don't know if this is correct) that at that time Sri Lanka's population was actually falling due to disappearences and also the very high suicide rate.  Can you remember the particualr incident of the young men who were taken from their homes for questioning by the Green Tigers/PRA?  All night long the villagers heard their screams.  In the morning they were found dead with their testicles in their mouths.  You can imagine what happened to the women.  All these events took place under a UNP government in which RW was a senior Minister.

Have a look at the Graveyard in  http://www.disappearances.org/  Each Sri Lankan town has a graveyard there.  The vast majority of the victims are Sinhalese.  Also have a look at the front cover of Anita Pratap's book Island of Blood.  Although this book is about the war with the LTTE, she has used a harrowing picture of a Sinhalese family for the cover.  It is from a photo taken by Robert Nickelsberg and shows the face of a young woman whose husband is being taken away for questioning.  She knows that she will never see him again. You can see it here at Amazon

These two sites alone will give you some idea of what Ranil and the UNP are guilty of.

If there was no terrorist Chola called Elara, there would have been no need for a Dutu Gamunu.
If there was no terrorist Chola flag waving Velu, there would not have been a need for a Mahinda either.

Do you have any evidence at all that Ranil was involved? The counter-repression was authorized by Premadasa, but I wasn't aware that Ranil was involved in public order at the time.

What a load of racist bilge. Even Elara's opponents admitted he was a just monarch.

And what the hell does the territorial ambitions of two minor chieftains two millennia ago have to do with the present situation.

Ranil was a Minister in JR's Government.  Did he protest?  Did he resign?  No, he sat quietly and reaped the benefits of office.

You really don't know do you? Where does the reference to the "Tiger" in LTTE originate from? Which people does the Tiger emblem in LTTE flag represent? Whom did once Velu say he was the "born again king" of? Its Chola, Chola and Chola.

Call it what you may, ruler, king or chieftain. He was only a foreigner with temporary residence. Its LTTE who has pushed the Tamils into a corner with an identity based on a foreign invader. The Sinhalese probably only started dragging the history out only afer a few racist Tamils dug it up with 'traditional land' claims. As I said before, there would be no references to King DG if there was no born again Chola king terrorising the island again.

Athos should've said that Elara was "only fit to clean toilets, or worse as something that needs to be cleaned from the toilet."  That certainly would not qualify as a racist statement.
