Refugee advocates have condemned the federal government's apparent attempts to prevent a group of Sri Lankan boat people claiming asylum in Australia.
The 85 men - 83 Sri Lankans and two Indonesians - were rescued by an Australian navy ship in international waters near Christmas Island this week after sabotaging their fishing boat.

Dear Aussies, Pls go ahead and retain/shelter all the asylum seekers.
From SRI LANKAN point of view, all tamils asylum seekers are intimidated by the Tigers. All sinhaleese are intimidated by lurative jobs. Both parties create havock once they settle in these countries. No need to stress the point of tiger activities. On sinhala youth, we experience what happend at Saudi, this is what all about. |
