A fresh round of fierce fighting between Sri Lankan government forces and the LTTE may begin next week, with the focus shifting from the Eastern coast to the Jaffna peninsula in the North of the country.

Post Not a War
All news items claims this is a war. But when Australian police tried to calm Sydney riots. Are they having a war. No ! They are taming their unlawful citizens who live by killing and illicit activities. They dangerous to the whole world. US, UK, India did not realize until bombs exploded in their countries killing thousands.  There should be no place for terrorists in this humane world. These man slaughtering barbarians need to be wiped off before they link up with other terrorists groups Al-quida make this world a mess.

What you are saying is that we were having only riots all along and the GOSL forces lost all those territories due to that. A GOOD ONE !
GOSL can't defeat VP. He has to be defeated by the Tamil people. As long as they are opperssed by GOSL it won't happen. And don't say Tamils are not opperssed.
Trust me there are lot of Tamils who are supporting VP because they can't and don't trust GOSL and other so called Tamil leaders (If they dont no one will defend Tamil people from the opperssers) . It's true that VP has killed and will kill whoever post a threat to him but at the same time GOSL has never proposed an acceptable SOLUTION for the problem. All those GOSL leaders including MR were worried about their own political future. NO ONE WORRIED ABOUT SRILANKA'S FUTURE.
If and when GOSL comes up with an acceptable solution Tamils will belive in democracy and VP will be defeted. Before that even if GOSL bring the mighty USA with all it's fire power GOSL wont be able to destroy VP or LTTE.

Darma is correct.
The need of the hour is an acceptable political solution by the government.
Unless and until such a solution is proposed there will not be real peace.
That is the sad truth.

How madness is to compare Sydney riots with more than 30 decades of prolonged ethnic trouble in SL.  No wonder there is any solution on the table from GSOL yet.  There is a proverb in Tamil that "you need to check only one grain of rice whether the whole pot of rice is cooked or not"  HITheshi's mentality is the prove for 17 million.

HITeshi\'s views are extreme and unreasonable, and do not necessarily represent the views of other 17 million.
It is true madness to compare Australia with SL.

"enation,

"You need to check only one grain of rice whether the whole pot of rice is cooked or not"

Well, have you ever cooked rice?  May be in a Rice Cooker.... When rice is cooked bottom grains are more softer than the top ones.  So it is not a bad idea to take samples from Top to Bottom; and left to right.
