Oh dear, that's a tough one for the pea-brained!
Perhaps labelling one more pea-brain as the Minister for Cabinet Meeting Venues would help?

How about the Sugathadasa Stadium?
By the way, do you think even the own familes would respect those poor souls in the government who failed to secure a minister (deputy / non-cabinet / whatever) position?
Can we name and shame them here?

Great way to solve the rural unemployment problem. Each minister can hire 25 immediate relatives and 25 distance relatives and 25 in-laws for coordinating secretary, pvt secretary, advisor jobs etc. Then they can hire drivers and bodyguards and fill up already overbloated government sector departments and improve inefficiency.
All this time we can beg for foreign aid to buy Range Rovers via Sajin Vaas Gunawardene from a THIRD PARTY nation by overriding the licensed Dealers. Then we can contact Basil and do deals and all will be well in Paradise Isle. We can see more Dutugemunu cutouts and the corruption investigations Rajita Senaratne and Bandula Gunewardene shouted about will now be silenced because they are part of the government.
The wasted space and oxygen used by the demoted ministers will not matter. Anura Bandaranaike is no threat to anyone and even if Mangy tried to get the loyal SLFPers together no one seriously will abandon their portfolios and the last chance to make money. Look at MH MOHAMMED of impeachment fame who was reputed to have cashed in to stop the impeachment against Premedasa. He too is part of the new government.
In 25 years SL will be giving AID to Singapore and USA. it will be the most efficient nation on the planet and develop rapidly. In 2 years it will overtake India too.

 Venue foir cabinet meetings
Suggested venue for Jumbo Cabinet meetings
1) rent the conference hall of a 5 star hotel
2) convert BMICH
3) in the pariament building itself as all the MPs are ministers

 ...... A Dictator ?
"Shame on Mahinda Chin-thana...I pray for a Military coup.. Deliver ..............."
A hardworking, efficient military dictator will be better than 100s of corrupt democratic politicians.
Even if that one leader robs govt money, if he can control others below him and ensure that all other corrupt officials are punished............then billions of public money can be saved and use for economic development.

It is no mere coincidence that the cabinet of ministers became a pack of 52. This corresponds exactly to a pack of playing cards, which contains Aces, Kings & Queens totalling 12, which may be taken to represent the dozen or so individuals who should ideally be there. The others only represent the numbers and other Jacks who are required to make up the pack. I am not sure if the 52 is including the President. If not, it is ideal, as this will take the number to 53. All that is required is one more joker to make a complete deck of 54. It seems like they found him today.
With regard to military dictatorship, Sri Lanka already has one military dictator - in the north claiming to represent the tamils. We don't need another in the south claiming to represent the sinhalese. Anyone claiming to represent the people must prove it by being democratically elected.

I think it is RW who is destroying the UNP, his actions and being selfish? UNPers knows this they criticize in private. They are unable to take any corrective steps because of the party constitution which gives all powers to its leader.
UNPers should understand that they are the ones who have to put their party in order, instead crying foul play by MR or any other party.

Very idealistic !
A benevolent dictator is what everyone would prefer.
But think of succession of power.
Assuming a decent handover of power (highly doubtful),still, the next 'dictator' may not be benevolent, he might be the next Idi Amin avatar.
And think of the next one after that. Successors usually would be one of the dictator's kin.
Back to the days of
kings, the individual lords of the lands who make or break the land.

If Sri Lankans had any hopes of becoming a better nation – they are already gone. It appears the Southern politics are more damaging to Sri Lanka than Northern Terrorism.
Best hope for Sri Lankans to have the kind of life humans deserve unfortunately will be outside Sri Lanka.
This is third world by design.
