Sri Lankan president vows to crush terrorism
irna.ir, Thu Jan 25 20:53:26 EST 2007
Vowing to crush 'terrorism', Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapakse on Thursday said it was 'crouching in fear' as the military continued to build on last week's major gains against the rebels in the island's east.
"Our Government is one that likes challenges," Rajapakse said while launching a 350-million dollar irrigation project in the north-central part of the island this morning, PTI reported here.
"Terrorism that many once swore cannot be defeated is now crouching in fear because we faced up to that challenge," he said referring to the military operations that led to the capture of the rebel-held town of Vakarai last week.

How can politicians justify crossovers? the public voted the losers out of their seats but now they strike deals with the Mad Retard and come back to take over ministries. Don't the lose the right to be ministers when they lose the election???

MR may correct by not giving political targets to the military and SL govt pursue both option while LTTE has only one option just killing innocents, and they don't have the decent Tamil support to maintain the false claim of discrimination.
Cross over was due to UNP's internal unrest but the present constitution allows it to happen which is odd with usual democratic norms. As the whole system is a mathematical fraud, hope MR may address the issue once N&E fire is extinguished as he has too much on his plate.
One thing MR to be praised of is that he tries to have a stong relationship with nations in Asia unlike predecessors who fly to the West for any headache.
The future is in Asia and the voters should elect leaders who are 'de-colonised'

Re: Sri Lankan President Crushing Terrorism
Sri Lankan President will then be much sought after by the rest of the world.
He will even be invited to become an advisor to President Bush.
Wouldn't that be wonderful for Sri Lanka?

Re: Sri Lankan president vows to crush terrorism
well if the military has an ultimate end in mind and working towards it should be hailed, as with all the lossers maybe we will finally get and end to this menance and see that SL gets its rightfull progress and equality to all races. Having said this we hope this not another traitorous approach by incompetent leaders by having an agreement internally with the terrorist, to take some and give some solution, if so then the situation should not have had to come for 30yrs of precious lives lost, and furthermore then its good as Sri - Lankan forces incapable to protect the boundaries from internal and external aggressors, i dont think we have to bend over our backs to the forces for fighting the terrorist as this is what they are paid, and furthermore this would not have happenned if not for the corrupted armed forces and politicians, so therefore anyother person involved on any other trades are equally imporatant to the country.
So this Mahinda's bragging to put the forces on the ,murunga aththa is actually seeking cheap votes and loyalty to him, which is totoally not what a tru leader will command, there fore is he a true leader or a common theif hiding behind a sheeps skin.
the truth may not be far away!
From what we see from externally, sri lankan leaders are clueless about the direction the country should go and how to fomulate system to drive the economy to the future by riding and driving with the changes taking place in the rest of the world, this is not because the country lack talent, but because SL leaders are brainless talentless iliterate bunch of rogues.

We've been hearing that tired rhetoric since the end of the 50s. And if you look at his official visits there does not appear to be any difference in MR's policy from that of every leader since SRWD.

Dear Velusumana,
My Tamil was never good (a simple pass at OL even after tuition) but I've heard my mother use the expression. The idea is that a clown is trying to mount a horse which had thrown off all who tried before. I am translating "chakkadaithar" as clown - not sure though.

He loading,
Firstly, JR's time there was a rule saying that the Cross Over guys will be deprived of their respective constituencies if this happened.
Secondly, think about guys such as Karu. This guy RW is clinging into UNP leadership. It is natural for them to cross over Greener Pastures

The government did not bother to teach Tamil to any of the Sinhalese it illegally settled in Eastern Province or Weli Oya in the 1980s.

Ranil should have resigned like the gentleman he pretends to be, when he lost the last presidential election. His clinging on to the leadership shows that he too is just a lousy, power hungry snivelling sob like the rest of them. Trust the Mad Retard to take advantage of this situation again..... one more feather in his ..
