    COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) _ Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger rebels said Wednesday they have released 20 combatants who had lied about their ages in order to join the insurgency, hoping to ease U.N. criticism that they forcibly recruit children under 18 to fight in their war. ``This release is part of a process taken up by us to ensure that underage youths who voluntarily join the LTTE are sent back to their parents,'' Daya Master told The Associated Press by phone from Kilinochchi, a stronghold of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.

How does LTTE release child solders if they did not have them  

The correct news is that there are 20 childern were handed over to parents when they wanted to join to LTTE because they are underage.

Keep up the good work find the under age and send them home or else people in the south will bleed their hearts for those tamil children who have lost homes, families and education while the SLA sit pretty
at their home and schools

What I have said is the news release from LTTE. Have you verified this LA news with other media? LTTE said it. But LA twist the news I hope.
If you go to n-e where LTTE controlled area every single person will tell you how to join LTTE. It is not a secret there. You live in south, never seen those area and writing after reading the media news you like (probably kind of Lanka Truth). Did you try to verify this news????

I know people like you in south think that LTTE are like underworld group in south, but people in n-e deal with LTTE in regular basis. LTTE has more than 15,000 members. As you all think from south that if LTTE bring forcefully all kids to fight SLA, why SLA loose fight with LTTE including Elephant pass and Wanni land? Why you have so much fuss to capture them back?
Go n-e and see there first. People in each community will give you the details of LTTE members in each community.

As you all think that if tamils are against LTTE, why TNA members got so many votes from n-e. Even in Jaffna where SLA 40000 is in present, do you think LTTE went behind them and ask them to vote to TNA. Wait till the next election in Jaffna and see how many are going to vote to other parties other than TNA. Now Jaffna is strong enough to held a election without LTTEs present. Don't you think?

According to the report released by UNICEF just before the CFA talks, over 5200 kids were recruited.

UPto now only 48 were released.

I am sure, keep the North and East DIRT POOR, then pabakaran get child soldiers easily. They will search for  LTTE to join for food.

MOst sri lankan soldiers are also from poor families.

Capable tamils send their children to colombo or overseas.

THE_ACA_USR, I'm not a fool to read "Lanka Truth" and try to argue with you, just like some of you guys read TamilNet. My point is by saying " ...20 children were handed over to parents when they wanted to join to LTTE because they are underage" you're trying to justify the LTTE child recruitment, and trying to down play that. If you believe Children are willing to join LTTE and Tigers returned them because they are too small, it's a Joke.      

By agree to some Tamils are with LTTE, I'm against with your argument "Tamils are Tigers & Tigers are Tamil", Then why we can see demonstrations against LTTE by Tamils, Tamil Parties against LTTE. And we have to keep in mind they do these things by going against the killer machine.

Tamilchelvan have invited the GOSL to come and see their children houses rather than making this as an issue. In any war affected country this is a huge problem. Have GOSL taken any single step to solve this problem? I think better GOSL stop killing/threaten students rather than giving a solution for this problem.

Now UNICEF is dealing with LTTE on this issue. Why don't you guys go and see some child-sex labours in Hambanthota and file case against MR/JVP? These are not single one off cases, there is a big industry out there.

Which says 85% of the tamils in Canada are supprting LTTE. Where they all came from?? They are even fundig LTTE because they have suffered enough when they were in SL.

And as for the Toronto Star article, it is clearly credited to "MICHELLE SHEPHARD AND SURYA BHATTACHARYA"... No DBS Jeyaraj in sight at all.. I fail to see why a newpaper which has been in publication since 1892 would bother to credit anyone other than the original reporters.

Like the pro-tigers 'SRICANADA', they feel GOSL is making excuses against their lovable carders. The 'THE_ACA_USR' is supporting their brothers in arms with many flattering arguments.

Their bottom line is Do not bother about tiger recruitments whether it's willing or unwilling, children or adult, tigers are sole saviours of the Tamils. Sinhala led south is always un-reasonably deprived from their rights?
