Sri Lankan politicians (those crooks) should not buy LTTE offers to suppress a true democratic uprising from Tamils. They should know that it was an absence of a strong democratic leadership for Tamils that would realy strive to develop the North and the East of Sri Lanka, that resulted in the creation of this dirty alternative of the LTTE. Now there are signs that the Tamils are realizing this mistake and getting together to form the real solution. LTTE knows that a genuine and a strong democratic movement will win the hearts of the Sinhalese very soon. So, LTTE will go to town with any mistake these real solution providers will do. This Geneva case is a good example. Sri Lankan news papers, and crooked politicians, don't play the fool now.

 From Sunday Island www.island.lk
From Sunday Island 26 Feb 2006
===============================
The story ‘London terrorist cadre arrested in Geneva’ in The Island of February 24 inadvertently carried under the by-line of our special correspondent Dushy Ranetunga reporting from Geneva was e-mailed by an LTTE propagandist. The story which was also posted on our website appeared under Ranetunge’s by-line due to a technical fault. The error is regretted.

It's the time for News papers to use at least GPG to encrypt/authenticate emails to prevent this type of attacks.

with respect to what SELVAN says, there is AN APOLOGY ISSUED BY THE ISLAND.
That is published in the INDEPENDANT NEWS LINK (ISL).
What selvan saw in the island, according to the news paper is not the true story.
They say some one faxed it with Dushy Ranatunge's name.

LTTE false propaganda machinery in action. Whatever the mode of transmission, Newspapers should authenticate the sender before publishing the same. Specially when publishing something related to a terrorist organization like LTTE. Never forget that false propaganda earns LTTE's bread and butter.

 Democratic Tamil Activist !!
This guy has a long history to read. He has drug/credit card etc. charges in Swiss and left the country 10 years back and came back to Colombo. Then some SL authorities funded him and helped him to create the anti LTTE org. He is the head of TBC and has several mambers in different europian countries.
This time he went to Swiss illegally (he is banned to enter Swiss) from German with a different name.
SL government is taking good effort to help Tamil to bring a good leadership for them, rather than try to solve the long lasting problem is it?
are these leaders has any vision for the country or the people living here???

Swiss Police is not Sri Lanka Police

I agree. Swiss Police is not like Sri Lanka Police. They must have some credible evidence of violation of some laws by the person arrested. They are not Gestapahs!
People here write without knowing the personal histroy of this individual, criminal, immigration or otherwise, and facts of the situation. People should wait for the Police to respond officially rather than rush to judgement and condemn the Police.

Person arrested on arrest warrant issued few years back
Mr. Ramrajan was arrested supposedly for using false passport as he already had an arrest warrant under his name.
Unfortunately this news headline states that "Tamil Decomratic Activist arrested". I don't think Swiss police arrest people for fun.
