close to a Tiger-controlled area, navy officials said.A sailor onboard the navy vessel was
also seriously wounded in the blast about 10 nautical miles off Thalaimannar.The navy had
spotted multi-day fishing trawler with at least four
people on board heading toward towards Vedithaltivu _ a Tamil
rebel-controlled area, navy official in Thalaimannar said on condition
of anonymity.

One shoud not believe everything as found on reports. In this case the explosion may have been caused by Navy firing. There may have been explosives in the boat.

But Guys, LTTE have to import arms an ammunition just like GOSL. GOSL gets them through Colombo Port. GOSL does not allow imports for LTTE through Colombo port, do they? So they get them through other means. Many get through, some get caught. These have been going on for decades. There is nothing new here. Furthermore, there have been no major confrontation between SLA and LTTE in the last four years for LTTE to take some from SLA stocks.

There was no agreement between GOSL and LTTE to stop acquiring arms.

If GOSL solves the Tamil problem then both sides can use the money, now spent on arms, on development.

Nope. What this forum shows is that how much the LTTE and their supporters are detached from the reality. Injured sailor succumbed to his injuries at Anuradhapura hospital.  

Under CFA no sea movement can happen unless prior authorisation given by GOSL.  This incident adds to other recent serious violations such as interception of a vessel with 61,000 detonators, blowing up of the dvora and attacking navy boats off mannar coast.
