COLOMBO, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger rebels released a policeman as a goodwill gesture on Thursday, a day after agreeing to peace talks in Switzerland with the government, but some said they feared a new war had only been postponed.
The stock market soared on news of fresh talks, but some in the war-weary north were less euphoric.
