COLOMBO (Reuters) - Unidentified men kidnapped two Sri Lankans working for a Danish mine clearing charity in the north on Wednesday, the charity said, while the army said it had foiled an ambush amid rising fears of a return to war. A string of Tamil Tiger rebel attacks on troops since early December has stretched a 2002 truce to breaking point, while the rebels say reported army abuses — including kidnappings — could rekindle a conflict that has already killed 64,000.The Danish Demining Group said they had no idea who had abducted two Tamil workers as they rode to work on the army-held, mainly Tamil Jaffna peninsula early in the morning. Hemmed in by rebel territory, tensions in Jaffna are high.
