ABC, Fri Jan 6 17:17:57 EST 2006
A powerful offshore explosion has beeen heard in Sri Lanka's northeastern port district of Trincomalee shortly after two naval patrol craft put out to sea.
Local authorities say the pre-dawn blast involved at least one of the naval craft with whom radio communication has been lost.
Military sources say they are trying to establish contact with the fast attack craft which had about a dozen sailors aboard.

Here we go again. If its revenge for the students why target the Navy, when it was the Army who were involved.

Another attempt by the third party (as SLMM always states) to provoke SLA to attack LTTE. The killing of the students should also be an act of this ruthless newly formed terrorist group after signing CFA. The fishy thing is that the third party terrorists are active in both SLA and LTTE controlled area and even in Colombo. SLA and LTTE should join hands to eradicate them and then I hope people in NE could live in peace. SLA and LTTE could ask the inteligence information about the third party from SLMM becasue they are the ones who first revealed about it.

Another newsline, asks the question asked by the President from his own brother: ARE YOU PLOTTING A COUP TO OVERTHROW THE GOVT ???????????.
The GOSL has no control over the Army, they are running amok, in their own little world.
So the time is now nigh, for the PRESIDENT to take control, as otherwise Shri Lanka will soon become a PAKISTAN.

killings create more killings, like violance create more violance, any battle ground filled wt inflmming hatred is uncontrollable, we can argue IRA less ruthless same the U.K army, but my knowledge of IRA is not good, best thing to stop the war, becas existing war always produce less benefits (unproductive) than the existing peace.we should b honest that u & me both dont have right leaders wt correct path. both r taking its people to disaster becas we both look this problem in our narrow racial minds, u look it as a tamil, i look it as a sinhala, if we could look it as a humans ,we can produce best results.

Pls don't tell me that SLA lost elephant-pass of thousands of army to child soldiers
I agree a few percentage are likely to be under age in LTTE, Not the majority

 center for policy alternatives
did anyone take offense to the comments of that halfwit tamil sympathiser at the center of policy alternatives.
Quote:"They'll look .. stupid if at the end of the day the only reason why they couldn't get to talk to each other is because they couldn't agree where to do it," said Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu"
Paikiasothy Saravanmuttu in his position should be capable of understanding that the LTTE are now past their usual pretense stage of looking for peace. Its back to business now in the only way the LTTe knows best; they want eelam and they want it now. He should be appalled by the latest string of attacks, but instead this is all he had to say? The tamils call this type of language "partial", i call it one sided and biast.
Wake up sinhalayo. They're all on the same side.

Political leaders and some of our forum members just repeat the word 'terrorists'. When the forces kill innocent people we should condemn this. Instead if we go on put the blame on one side. If you are a person who can use your brain study the situation and then comment. The people who are supporting LTTE maintain they are freedom fighters, the people who support GOSL maintain that only terrorists are killed by army. Both side is making the mistake. Nobody is thinking the situation when the terrorists really show their real terrorists attack before ceasfire. Is there anybody thinking if a bomb blasts in Colombo city and kill innocent civilians. relatives of mine and yours may be killed.
Please, please without just put the blame on each other, come to the reality. Time is ticking !!! Let it be not the ticking of bombs. Please save Sri Lanka.

There is no point in waiting any longer. It is obvious there is no other choice except to use all the resources we have and fight till the end. This is no time to think about economy, development or progress. We have to sacrifice everything we have to get rid of this menace once and for all. We will have to do it sooner than later as there is absolutely no chance of a peaceful settlement with a bunch of terrorists who are determined to achieve their goal only through violence.
