Post SRI LANKA: Post-Election Protests Fail to Get Wide Support

    COLOMBO, Feb 22, 2010 (IPS) - Street protests that erupted in Colombo and other cities following the Feb. 8 arrest of defeated presidential candidate Sarath Fonseka have yet to gain wider support from non-political groups.

Wonder why....
Combined opposition was ready to set the country aflame on behalf of the swan
But the people don't seem to have the same conviction
Nor do they seem to be keen to have the swan appointed to the post of Prez.

Seems the people have spoken by their silence. Maybe the Opposition hasn't yet heard it.

Flames have gone with the removal of swan.
Cup has come in place for the worst looser.

Well, I think people are tired of the events followed one after another (end of LTTE wars and then recently concluded Elections!) and may be they want to get on with their own work.  Beside, for them, a known . is better than the unknown angel (Swan) backed by known devils Idea
