How did they get $527,000 in crisp sequentially numbered notes.  Not even the UNP , SF designated propaganda newspaper the Sunday Leader is defending this story now. It cannot.

So the question is, was the money collected from disaparate sources in the US and then banked and withdrawn and is that why they are serially linked notes? Or was it Tiger money?

Will Patricia Buttenis and Robert O Blake be able to shed some light?  Hey Patty, do you think you could get away like in Bangladesh trying to be the Kingmaker?

I am inclined to believe this is not hora salli from HiCorp deals but US money.  The money allegedly made off arms deals are in Texas.

Aney paw Buttenis Nanggi ge salli walata Mahinda mamma gey aaanduwa keliya neyda? I say the money be given to the soldiers who saw active duty in the war. Ehemuth naththnum Blake Aiygeng ahamu. Embarassed

Someone gambled and lost. Damn man, with 525,000 dollars, a person can live like a king in Sri Lanka,

I wonder whether the purveyors of this money were too stupid to launder it first or thought that the recipient SriLankas, whoever they may have been, would be too stupid to notice.

could be true. Fonseka should be getting funds to run the election campaign.

since MR won the PE he goes on witch hunt on Fonseka and his relatives.

imagine if Fonseka had won the PE.
The same CID would have gone on a witch hunt on Rajapakse family.
CID might question where did Tharunayata Hetak got all that funds to run the election campaign.
CID might be witch hunting what happened to the billions of $ in the bank accounts that Minister Rambukwella revealed.

Quote:
We are verifying the accounts. While the money that could have been in these accounts was being added, it could easily run into a couple of billions ($),’’ government minister and defence spokesperson, Kehelia Rambukwella told HT.

it could be a wild imagination to think what would have happened if  Fonseka won the PE but what minister Rambukwella revealed not a wild imagination, but true. a reality.

so what happened to the billions of $ ?
would it take another 7 years to find it out?

Well since some say there is a “king” in SL, I doubt another “king” will be allowed here. Wink

Truly this is really big money for any Sri Lankan living here, but some out there will say its pea nuts compared out there in the world. Both could be right depending whom we are comparing with, and more importantly what the project is.

Well what I have heard for many a times, that to campaign for an election in a district one needs about Rs.5million. Say roughly on this basis in a PE where you go for 22 districts it will be Rs110million. (Aprox US$1 million) How could one raise it? Lets break it down, 110 well wishes investing a 1million or 1000 investing a 100,000/- or 10,000 investing 10,000/- or 100,000 investing a 1000/- . Is it that scary to raise it even you double it.

Here the question is not in the amounts, what the exchange control violations are and who funded or how one got it. Call it witch hunt? It’s the individual’s call.

Post Must have been too much funds to spend!
Quote:
The money was found in one of safety deposit boxes under the name of Asoka Tillekeratne, whose son Danuna is married to a daughter of Fonseka, it said.

MR was accused of over advertising and getting too much exposure.  On the other hand, SF must be spending lavishly, and this must be a left-over!’’
