Sri Lanka is such an important country for the whole world. They are more worried about Sri Lanka's problems than their own problems.  

Ask the Fonsekas how they got $527,000 in crisp sequentially numbered notes.  Not even their designated propaganda newspaper the Sunday Leader is defending that. So was the money collected from disaparate sources in the US and then banked and withdrawn? Or will Patricia Buttenis and Robert O Blake be able to shed some light?  Hey Patty, do you think you could get away like in Bangladesh trying to be the Kingmaker?      I am inclined to believe this is not hora salli from HiCorp deals but US money.

For those who have no clue about money sources; let me enlighten you having connections with the old SLFP. Russia, China and India used to give cash to the SLFP and CP and other left parties during the cold war via their KGB agents in Sri Lanka some of whom spoke very good Sinhalese too.  US Always gave money to the UNP.   Local Mudalalis give money in bags of cash. Normally the collecting agent gives it to CBK or whoever is the candidate. But if the collecting agent is a bit dishonest, but has the leader's trust he pilfers lets say a million from a bag with ten milllion for himself and says only 9 million was given to the candidate.  That is not a bad way to build up a nest egg. But the donor (lets say walks a  Grayline between gambling on who will win or lose) will not complain because it is all illegal or untaxed money that is coming in. At the same time, if he plays it safe like a lets say a Dirty Harry, he will give 25 million cash to the side he thinks will win but for insurance also give ten million to the other side..  US and Norway clearly were caught on the losing side.


NGOs such as the pro-western ones became the conduit for funds in recent years.   So this is an old practice. no big deal.  ONly big deal is getting caught with it. So I am sure the money was western money that was caught in the Son-in-law's mothers vaults and not hora arms deals. Nevertheless, neither the UNP nor JVP are saying anything now.. That is nearly 78 million rupees. And Anuruddha was jailed and harassed for only 40 million during the Ranil heydays of his being PM.. funny how the man who said "wiswaasaneeya wensak" was arrogant enough to get caught like this..   I am sad because I believed in him and supported him...  Now I dont know what to think. Sure, some of you will shout and say the government is like that too; I say sure, but so are the dirty leaders of the JVP who stole gold and robbed banks and enriched themselves. I will like the government raiding Somawansa's banks along with Tilvin's and even their own Goebbels Wimal Weerawansa's accounts. But that will not happen, but what happened here was that an egotistical man who wanted to be King has been caught  and his own words are now being used against him. Don't forget, India reported that SF secretly visited JVP HQs while being in uniform and being CDS. Please stop this innocent act.

Aney paw Buttenis Nanggi ge salli walata Mahinda mamma gey aaanduwa keliya neyda? I say the money be given to the soldiers who saw active duty in the war.
