    COLOMBO: The Sri Lankan Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Wednesday informed a court that they had a statement from the former Army Chief, General Sarath Fonseka, denying any illegal involvement in the approval of four suspicious tenders to a firm allegedly run by his son-in-law Dhanuna Tilekeratne in his capacity as the then chairman of the tender board.

And, our dear Dammika will feel disgusted by the blame game - this time when the mob who plundered Sri Lanka's poor tax payers' money while they were buddy-buddies start blaming each other for the criminal acts.

Of course, our Dammika didn't bat an eye lid when the mob was committing the criminal acts.

With her limitations she doesn't see the good side that it is only exposure that will make them think twice when they steal the next time; or when their kith and kin take over the mantle and step into the parents' shoes! When there is no free media to expose the thieves, when independent journalists like Lasantha, Iqbal and Noyahr have been either killed or chased out of the country or imprisoned, the thieves themselves expose each other.

Looks like the Spiritual Guardians of Sri Lanka are concerned!

I am willing to give the General benefit of the doubt; His Son-in-Law may not necessarily have informed the General. But I have a serious issues with the "Wiswaasaneeya Wenasak" campaign when one finds USD527,000 in a vault opened in front of the owner, lawyers and managers and the lady says the money belongs to the Generals' daughter. It is a bit troublesome.  I am ok with some money being made considering what sort of crooks we have in government ranks(e.g., pay offs for the flyovers built by Access with British company at over inflated prices).  I think he probably thought, I almost died for this country and why not i make some money before I retire?  The disturbing aspect is the serial numbers as reported by Derana being sequential.  So was it money from the US via Robert O' Blake and Miss Butenis who butted in?

If the money was not theirs all she had to do was say that it was not hers and the government could have confiscated it. Remember when General Ratwatte's HNB accounts were opened and they found 40million LKR deposits? This incident raked in more like LKR75million worth..WOW Holy Cow.  I am ok with a bit of making money as long as the kickbacks were legitimate commissions and not money for buying bad equipment. But some of the top commanders seem to think the ammunition bought by the son-in-law had 30% duds putting our soldiers at risk. ALSO why was the entire family in Beijing at Norinco expense when the final week of the war was being waged? He could not answer these factual charges during the campaign.  THe JVP has to eat Kavun now. Those weasels have no stool to stand on now.

Mob were all buddies; buddies fall out and they spill the beans. SF threatening to betray state secrets and Gota spilling the stories on SF, and journalists. Remember even Iqbal Athas was threatened and Keith Noyahr brutalized after he wrote about SF and his medals where SF only awarded himself the VSV which he was not entitled to because of his character blemishes on file in  the Army?
