This is exactly the kind of background resulted in JVP uprising back in 1970 followed by LTTE.

SLFP was elected into power lead by Srimavo on sympathy vote.  Srimavo destroyed the economy and constitution spawning JVP.  Her left-wing ethno-religious extremism created the LTTE.

The same party of dimwits returns to clean up the mess they themselves created.  I have no doubt these dimwits will leave another lasting mess before 8 years are over.  These village . make sure this country stay 3rd world hell hole for decades to come.

Athos, you are most disrespectfully out of forum's guidlines in your above post. Your arrogance equals ignorance.

Athos, unfortunately Fonseka did not give the "dimwits" much of a choice.  He talked about throwing everyone in prison- is that the way to dig oneself out of "3rd world hellhole?"

Which pill you forget to take this morning?

He said he will throw in jail anyone from the miliary caught campaigning in election. Anyone who give a hoot about the army would say the same. The only institution that escaped political fingering was the army. Now its no longer so.

Even so, this pitiful country tolerates theives, drunkards and uneducated thugs as their political reps. They all of a sudden faced with a "moral dilema" when someone mention army officers bringing army to disrepute is to be kicked out?

Taraki is mistaken.
Fonseka was not arrested because he said something during presidential polls but due to his some conducts when he was  a military officer, as per government sources.

Quote:
No link between Fonseka arrest and run for prez: Lanka envoy

"It is important to not see a link between his candidature in the presidential polls and the arrest which is a part of a separate process altogether. There are serious allegations of misconduct as a military officer against him and the investigations into these are bound by military rules," said Kariyawasam in an exclusive interview to TOI, adding that only the investigations will determine the exact form of charges to be pressed against him.
