Xinhua, Sun Jan 31 21:55:53 EST 2010
JAFFNA, Sri Lanka, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- As the 30-year-long civil war between Sri Lanka's government troops and Tamil tiger rebels ended in May 2009, the war affected northern Jaffna peninsula, the economic and cultural capital for the island's minority Tamils is reawakening after the endless suffering.

How come good news doesn't get attention? Only bashing GOSL and specially MR bashing worth discussing?

 Remote controlled fishingcarfts!!!!
Quote:K. K. Dharmalingam, assistant director of Fisheries Department for the Jaffna district said 9,000 fishing craft are being operated there by 6,000 fishermen, but all of craft are one-day ones, not suitable for deep sea fishing.
My Dear Sudara Jothimuni (Xinhuwa), It seems some Fishing crafts are being operated without fishermen or by remote control

This is Very Bad News
THis proves that Rights under MR regime is being eroded and undermined and our fundamental right to complain is slowly being taken away
Oh well! Guess I can always complain that the development is not being done fast enough or development was not done during past 30 years and this is all a ploy to win hearts and minds of Tamils so why I should care about it now...
The possibilities are endless

Bogo should do more visits.
visits to the Kandasamy temple with Doglas's men standing beside smiling
are jokes bandied around in Jaffna.
-so we are hearing.
Unfortunately Tamils don't recognize the sudden waving of the wand of the gosl
becuase it never happened before.

Better design a new plan to slave the SL Tamils for another half century for your selfish cause Gnanaratnam before they are going to get caught up with living and moving on with lives.

It is also unfortunate Tamils don't recognize the sudden waving of the wand and it never happened before. If that is the case, remember there is a first time for every thing. May be this it. Don't feel so negative about it.

Plan of the Tamils has always been the same.Perhaps your views have changed realising
that in your mind the word 'slavery' has lived and now put to rest.Didn't work did it?
Are you threatening that we would be enslaved for another half a century?
Dammika give it a rest and take a break.

Who are 'WE"? Have Tamils been enslaved in Sri Lanka? For instance all the Tamils we see in Sri Lanka were slaves? For example, is Wellawatta a slave area? Are the Gold Shops in the Sea street Slave shops?

I was there in December. Went to Wellawatta Bank Of Ceylon. Walked in the streets. Are you saying I didn't see your slaves? Or it changed in Jan 2010?
Pl. see your answer. You use the word 'Our Gold" and you also said Tamils have been enslaved. If Slaves have Gold, I will definitely be a slave. I think you have to change your thinking Cap!

Gnaratnam, let me break it down for ya since what i wrote above flew right above your head. We know what is your plan, which is to make life of Tamils in Sri Lanka as miserable as possible, prevent any sign of development and any sign of reconciliation with Sinhalese, any sign of happiness Tamils may feel toward GOSL because as long as you keep misery at the highest level possible, the "Plan" will work. Well at the moment your little plan does not seem to be working, because probably for the first time, GOSL is hell bent on providing the maximum living standards possible so that this whole rediculous idea of a homeland will go away eventually.
And it is not me who is afraid, but people like you who are very afraid that if people really have something to look forward to, live their lives to the fullest and enjoy their lives to the fullest, then the diaspora who so willingly funded the "Cause" (but extremely unwillingly to fund development, hence say things like WHY DIASPORA? WHERE'S THE MONEY?SUDDEN WAVING OF THE WAND., etc etc), will be in a very weak position to bargain and keep homeland concept going. Now you and I both know this, even though you don't want to come out and say it. That's why i told you to find another plan to keep SL Tamils enslaved to your homeland cause since the original plan does not seem to be working anymore.

I don't have to tell you where I walk and where I live. Next time I will definitely walk in Salveisland, Colombo.
Now take a deep breath and count to ten and we will meet in another thread.
