Finally common sense. We don't want to ruin the magnificient victory of MR's by the Mugabe and Idi Amin like behaviour. As it stands, we know that the US was backing SF.  This is the COMMONSENSE and STATESMAN like conduct we need; MR is the man who withstood UNP harassment and JVP terrorism and did not run off like others.  He should know in politics that people have a right to ask hard questions. If the answers are there, instead of kicking people out they need to be given, otherwise it looks like there is a lot to hide. CBK was incompetent, but even after relentless salacious attacks on her in S. Leader she ignored them. Her lover took matters to his own hands and attacked Ruklantha and Chandralekha but overall clearly there was a lot more press freedom under CBK; no amount of shouting by the MR regime will change that record UNLESS MR shows by conduct he is a STATESMAN much loved by all more like when Mrs. B was loved.

Ah, such magnanimity... brings tears to my eyes. How about the journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda? Will the President generously return his body to the Family?

I AGREE;  Sorry, I was only referring to the current story.  But JaffnaMan is right.
But what about the story about the General's people being behind the assassination of Lasantha Wickremetunge and the horrible assault on Keith Noyahr, who to this date refuses to talk about the dehumanizing abuse attacks to manhood he suffered after he wrote about the General and his VSV in the Nation? So are we to let only one side go free? Did they all work in cahoots?  and only because the Government needed to win the war and now they have fallen out there are "investigations"?

Not sure about Lasantha but the belief at the time was that SF or a rouge unit of the MI was involved in the brutal treatment of Keith.
The reason given was that he wrote a story about SF getting a Car that was worth 60Million and the publication of that didn't go down well with SF.

Mahinda has a sense of humor guys. This stupid woman was naive to ask a question like " Was Basil involved in an election heist?"..
What the heck was she thinking?? Didn't she know we don't like "interference" from outsiders??( Except when we go bowl in hand begging for "Aid".. )

Our President realized that the expulsion in itself would become a story and therefore nipped it in the bud..

Smart fella our Prez.. Jayawewa!!!

There is nothing of common sense here. First he expelled him then he decided to keep him back. The president should have no say in this at all. If he was a threat to society then he should have been expelled. Now the picture is clear: She was expelled because she was causing an embarrassment to MR and later it was revoked for the same reason.

Our country policy is clear. President does whatever he wants and if you make him angry you pay. So, since the witch hunt has already begun against the opposition supporters, i see bleak times ahead.
