A political hara-kiri ?
Wonder if he has resigned to the fact
that he won't win Tamil votes.

And, this is the election we all expected to be a walk-over for MR!

MR is in big trouble if the voters who voted for RW in 2005 STILL vote for SF this time because together with the NE tamil voters it will be a walk-over for SF. In a way Ranil might be right when he says that the Govt has taken the dead rope he gave. Govt never expected SF to contest and more importantly that JVP and UNP will be on a common platform. All this time Ranil was been portrait as the candidate. Govt for the last 4 years have been blasting the guy who is not even in the ballot paper this time.

But all is not lost for MR and even if it is he will still playa big role in sri lankan politics. But his brothers and henchman cannot afford to lose. They can still put up an effective rigging operation. I dont think anyone in 2005 thought that the LTTE leadership can be bought for money and he did.

I think MR is betting on southern sinhala votes, again.

A close election indeed.
Looks like nothing they all say matters at this hour.
Let's see how it goes.

300,00 ballots have gone missing. A clean cop, Nimal Lewke who brooks no nonsense have been recalled from the North allowing Douglas and his gang a walkover in the rigging operations.

What will our people do ?

There's no need to:

Says a lot about how fair the election is going to be. Do you still defend this corrupt regime, MAC?
