I used to think distance learning is a wonderful idea, low cost, you don't have to travel etc.
However, I have changed my opinion about it based on my life experience.
I think direct student-student or student-professor is a very important aspect in learning.
The higher you seek the education level, the more one needs to network with others.
One shouldn't be motivated on getting just the paper qualification. I've got a friend who just got his MBA through
university of Phoenix, another is doing the same by paying over $200,000 sitting at classroom.
There is a difference in value of the education one get by sitting in a classroom with peers.
The money the second person pays for his education, he will make that in just one year.
I just write this to talk about something in line with the name of the forum.
There is nothing wrong with distant learning, however you always get what you pay for.
